Looking for a way to keep your kids off screens and out in the sunshine this summer? Want to see them come home tired, happy, and bursting with stories about catching newts, building forts, and making new friends? You’re in luck—Outdoor Education Adventures’ Summer Day Camps are just what you’ve been searching for!
At OEA, we believe in the power of mud, curiosity, and unstructured play. Our camps aren’t about rigid schedules or packed classrooms—they’re about exploration, discovery, and connection with nature. Whether your child is a budding scientist, an energetic adventurer, or a quiet observer of the natural world, they’ll find something to love at camp.
Why Outdoor Education?
Time in nature isn’t just fun—it’s powerful. Research shows that outdoor learning helps kids thrive in ways that traditional classrooms often can’t. Kids who spend time outside tend to develop stronger social and emotional skills, like empathy, teamwork, and self-confidence. Nature-based learning sparks creativity and curiosity, encouraging children to become engaged, hands-on learners who explore the world with all five senses. It also supports their mental and emotional health by reducing stress and improving mood regulation and focus. On top of all that, outdoor play builds physical strength, coordination, and resilience as kids move through varied landscapes and take on real-life challenges. Perhaps most importantly, outdoor education fosters a deep and lasting connection to the natural world—helping kids feel a sense of wonder, belonging, and responsibility to care for the Earth.
So, what does a week at OEA Summer Camp look like?
Picture this: Your child arrives at a beautiful local park, greeted by experienced naturalists who know how
to meet kids where they’re at. From there, their day might include flipping over mossy logs to search for salamanders, scooping up creek critters and learning how they reveal the health of our waters, or building forts and fairy houses in the woods with new friends. One day might involve hiking and tracking animals through the forest, while another is spent quietly journaling by a stream or testing theories about where bugs like to hide. Every day at camp is filled with opportunities to wonder, experiment, reflect, and connect.
Our educators use a child-led, experiential approach, which means kids get the freedom to follow their interests, ask questions, and make discoveries at their own pace. We value process over product, play over perfection, and joy over competition.
Camps for every kind of kid!
We offer camps for a variety of ages, so whether your child is 5 or 14, a first-timer or a seasoned explorer, we’ve got a spot for them. Camps run Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, and we host them at beautiful natural spaces in Yamhill County.

Our staff are experienced educators, naturalists, and outdoor leaders who are passionate about helping kids build confidence, empathy, and a lifelong love for the natural world. They’re also trained in risk management, wilderness first aid, and the kind of playful patience that makes every camper feel seen and supported.
Thanks to generous donors and grant funding, tuition assistance is available, because we believe every child deserves the chance to connect with nature.
Don’t miss out – spots fill fast!
Our camps are small by design to ensure every camper gets individual attention and a safe, supportive experience. That means they also fill up quickly!
