Adventure Day Camp at Metsker Park 3 (Ages 5-12)

How do beavers build dams? How do salmon find their way home? What purpose does a mosquito serve? These questions and more will be explored as we continue our adventures in Metsker County Park. This lovely park along Baker Creek is only open to educational programs. Camp adventurers will be encouraged to push themselves safely as they explore the secrets of this park, learn teamwork and various aspects of natural science, and think creatively.

Do your kids love spending time outdoors, exploring nature; catching frogs, snakes, and bugs; building forts; playing games, and getting dirty? Then an Outdoor Adventure Day Camp is the camp for them.

While every week of camp is a unique adventure, we don’t run our camps on themes. This gives us the flexibility to work with camp participants where they are. OEA strives to get kids excited about exploring outdoors and learning about nature; to that end, while we put a basic plan in place for the shape of each camp week, we often change our plans dramatically to meet the needs of the individuals in our camps after we’ve met them.

As needed and possible, camp registrants will be placed in age- and skill-appropriate groups for some of the activities. These groups are generally split between 5-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds, but it varies.

Five-year-olds must be in or have completed kindergarten (or equivalent). Younger children should register for our Nature Play Adventures.
