Adventure Day Camp With a Creative Twist (Ages 5-12)

Our last summer camp of the year is a slightly more artistic, creative camp. Participants will not only spend the week exploring nature, but will allow their imagination to shine, too. Kids who want to get creative will spend time painting, creating nature-themed stories, making and playing with shadow puppets, and many other creative endeavors. At the end of the week, we’ll celebrate with an evening community party at Wortman Park in McMinnville.

Your small companion isn’t so much into being creative? We totally get it, and while we do encourage all of the children to participate, we also offer alternative activities. We want them to love art and nature, not dread it!

Do your kids love spending time outdoors, exploring nature; catching frogs, snakes, and bugs; building forts; playing games, and getting dirty? Then an Outdoor Adventure Day Camp is the camp for them.

While every week of camp is a unique adventure, we don’t run our camps on themes. This gives us the flexibility to work with camp participants where they are. OEA strives to get kids excited about exploring outdoors and learning about nature; to that end, while we put a basic plan in place for the shape of each camp week, we often change our plans dramatically to meet the needs of the individuals in our camps after we’ve met them.

As needed and possible, camp registrants will be placed in age- and skill-appropriate groups for some of the activities. These groups are generally split between 5-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds, but it varies.

Five-year-olds must be in or have completed kindergarten (or equivalent). Younger children should register for our Nature Play Adventures.
