Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Educator
Do you enjoy spending time outdoors? Do you enjoy working with youth and sharing knowledge about the natural world?
Join OEA as a Volunteer Educator and help provide students with a hands-on, educational experience which encourages investigation and discovery with the natural world.
During our natural science programs students engage in a variety of activities which provide them with a sense of place, increase scientific and environmental literacy, strengthen critical
thinking skills, and present opportunities for nature connect. Lesson topics may include watershed geography, local ecology and natural history, animal and plant identification, habitats and adaptations, and more.
No experience is necessary to become a Volunteer Educator. Training, resources, and materials will be provided.

We do not currently have an internship position posted but we are open to considering the opportunity. Please let us know in your application that you are interested in using your volunteer hours to fulfill an internship and what institution you are attending.

2023 Summer Camp Counselors
These positions are currently filled.
The Summer Camp Counselor position is an opportunity to learn under the supervision and guidance of experienced environmental educators. In this role, the Summer Camp Counselor will assist with the delivery of Outdoor Education Adventures (OEA) Youth Summer Camps. This position is responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and education of summer camp campers ages 5-12 years. This position works as a teammate to other OEA summer camp staff and volunteers and reports directly to the OEA Program Directors.
This is a seasonal position. The Summer Camp Counselor will work for five to seven weeks from the end of June through August 2023. Pay is $14.20 an hour (or the updated minimum wage).
