No school? No problem! Outdoor Education Adventures’ No School Day Camps are the perfect way to keep kids ages 5–12 active, curious, and connected to nature when school is out. Instead of spending the day indoors, your child can join our team of experienced naturalists to explore the wild side of Yamhill County and come home muddy, happy, and full of stories.
What a Day at Camp Looks Like
Each camp day is a fresh adventure. We gather at a local park or natural area and start with a welcoming circle, where we connect, get to know each other a bit and share the plan for the day. From there, the day unfolds with a mix of guided exploration and free play:
-
Nature Hikes & Discovery Walks – Campers wander forest trails, creek banks, and meadows, observing wildlife, plants, and seasonal changes. Our naturalists share fun facts and lead engaging activities that spark curiosity and scientific thinking.
-
Games & Challenges – From cooperative team games to scavenger hunts and nature-based art projects, kids stay active while learning about ecosystems, habitats, and the animals that live among us.
-
Hands-On Science – Whether testing water quality in a stream, examining animal tracks, or building forts from fallen branches, campers use their senses and creativity to learn directly from the environment.
-
Relationship-Rich Play – Kids connect with peers and mentors in a supportive, inclusive community where everyone is free to explore at their own pace.
Our goal is simple: to nurture a love of the outdoors and help children grow their confidence, independence, and sense of wonder. Every No School Day Camp is different because nature is always changing—new weather, new wildlife, new discoveries!
Why Families Love OEA Camps
Parents tell us their kids come home from OEA camps with muddy boots, big smiles, and new friends and they can’t wait to come back. With a low camper-to-staff ratio and experienced outdoor educators, you can feel confident your child is safe, supported, and engaged all day long.
